B.Pharmacy: Eligibility Criteria


For the students interested in pursuing B.Pharmacy, it is important for them to know the eligibility criteria for getting admission into this course. Although, different institutes have different eligibility criterias, the general eligibility criteria is mentioned below: 

  • The candidate must have cleared 12th standard from a recognized board with at least 60% marks and with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects.
  • Some colleges may require students to pass an entrance exam such as NEET, NIPER JEE, NMIMS NPAT, CUET, MHT-CET, KCET, etc.
  • The students must not be less than 17 years of age at the time of application. However, there is no restriction on the maximum age of the candidate. 
For those students who have already completed their diploma in pharmacy, they are also eligible to pursue Bachelors in Pharmacy through lateral entry. These students can get admission directly in the second year of their course. Here is the eligibility criteria for students who wish to get admission through lateral entry: 

  • Pass the diploma in Pharmacy with at least 60% marks.
  • Students must make sure that their diploma is certified by the Pharmacy Council of India. 

Further studies after B Pharmacy 


B Pharmacy is a Bachelor's level course. However, in case someone wishes to pursue further studies in the same field, there are plenty of options that can make this possible. Some of them are mentioned below:

M Pharmacy: In this course, students can choose to specialise in various subfields such as Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutics.
